Can I really skip my next auto loan payment with Mobility Credit Union when I open a new checking account?

Yes, as long as your name is on the loan and on the new checking account. Skip an additional payment when you add at least one qualifying ACH Deposit or Direct Deposit of $300 or more within 75 days of opening the account.

How do I apply for a checking account?

You have 3 options on how to apply.

Is there a fee to skip my next auto loan payment?

There is no fee to apply. The normal $25 fee does not apply for these Skip-A-Pay offers.

Will this affect my credit?

No. We do not perform a credit check for this promotional offer. The skip-a-payment offer is not considered a late or delinquent payment. You should have no adverse effect on your credit score.

Will I receive a debit card?

Yes, you will receive a debit card 7-10 business days after the account opening process is completed. You are also able to order checks with your new checking account.

*A minimum deposit of $300 is required to open a new checking account. Account opening is subject to approval. This offer is not available to existing Mobility Credit Union checking account holders or members whose checking accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance.

Offer applies only to the Skip-A-Pay Program. The normal $25 fee is waived with the Skip-A-Pay offer. Interest, finance charges, and voluntary insurance (including payment protection fees) will continue to accrue during the “no payment” deferral period. The deferral period will increase the total finance charges the borrower pays over the life of the loan. Offer subject to payment history; all Mobility Credit Union loans must be current and in good standing. Members may not be eligible if they have already used a Skip-A-Pay or have received a hardship deferral.

**Second Skip-A-Pay Offer: To receive a second Skip-A-Pay, the new checking account must receive at least one qualifying Direct Deposit of $300 or more within the first 75 days of account opening. Direct Deposits must come from a payroll provider or government benefit provider through the ACH network. Person-to-person payments (such as Zelle®) do not qualify.

Important Notes:

  • You must contact Mobility Credit Union once you open your new checking account to take advantage of this offer.
  • You must also contact Mobility Credit Union when your qualifying Direct Deposit is set up and has posted to your new account in order to receive the second Skip-A-Pay.
  • You must continue to make your auto loan payment until Mobility Credit Union confirms your Skip-A-Pay has been processed. If Mobility Credit Union has set up an automatic loan payment, the payment(s) for that month will be deferred. If you set up a recurring payment through online/mobile banking or a bill payment service, you must defer the payment(s) for that month.
